PASTI - Partnership to Accelerate Stunting Reduction in Indonesia (2024)
PASTI is partnership with the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), aims to accelerate stunting reduction and improve nutritional status in Indonesia from January 2023 to January 2027. Supported by USAID, Tanoto Foundation, PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN), PT Bank Central Asia Tbk, and Yayasan Bakti Barito, and implemented by Wahana Visi Indonesia with Yayasan Cipta as a sub-implementer, the program focuses on East Java (Ngawi, Malang, and Lamongan Regencies) and Banten (Tangerang, Pandeglang, and Serang Regencies). Yayasan Cipta’s work centers on three main approaches: integrated nutrition interventions tailored to local contexts, increasing stunting awareness, and strengthening stakeholder institutions.
Strengthening Family Assistance Teams in Accelerating Stunting Reduction in Riau Province (2024)
The Family Assistance Team (TPK) at the village and sub-district level, consisting of midwives, KB cadres, and TP-PKK cadres, is a key component of the Stunting Task Force in Riau Province, responsible for providing assistance, identifying stunting risk factors early, and working to prevent their impact on families. Recognizing TPK’s critical role in accelerating stunting reduction, April Group, Tanoto Foundation, and Yayasan Cipta have collaborated to strengthen TPK’s capacity in this effort. This initiative involved capacity-building for 89 TPK cadres across locus villages in four districts of Riau Province.
Technical assistance and advocacy program for accelerating stunting reduction in 7 districts (2024)
The technical assistance and advocacy program for accelerating stunting reduction is a partnership program supported by USAID, Tanoto Foundation, Amman Mineral, Nusa Tenggara, PT. Bank Central Asia, Tbk, and the Bakti Barito Foundation in collaboration with the Cipta Foundation as the Implementation Team in 7 Regencies, namely: West Lombok, North Lombok, Pandeglang, West Pasaman, Garut, Rokan Hulu, and Kutai Kartanegara. This program has been started since 2021, and will continue until 2024. This program is expected to produce significant positive impacts, such as reducing stunting rates in 7 Regencies, increasing the capacity of district governments to manage stunting programs both in terms of KPP and 8 Convergence Actions, increasing the capacity of key figures, and realizing effective, integrated, and sustainable stunting programs throughout the region.
Technical Assistance for Accelerating Stunting Reduction in North Sumatra Province (2024)
Based on the Decree of the Minister of PPN/Head of Bappenas in 2022, North Sumatra Province is one of 12 priority provinces in accelerating stunting reduction. The results of the 2022 SSGI revealed that the prevalence of stunting in North Sumatra reached 21.1% with a decrease in stunting rates from 2021 to 2022, namely 4.7%. Therefore, more aggressive, integrative, and holistic efforts are needed to accelerate stunting reduction, which will mainly be carried out in 2 regencies/cities in North Sumatra, namely Pematang Siantar City and Pakpak Bharat City. This program is supported by the Tanoto Foundation and implemented by the Cipta Foundation.
Technical Assistance and Advocacy Program to Accelerate Stunting Reduction in 4 Districts in Riau Province (2024)
To support the Riau Provincial Government’s 2030 vision and commitment to reducing stunting, the Tanoto Foundation and PT RAPP have partnered with Yayasan Cipta to implement a technical assistance and advocacy program in four priority districts: Palalawan, Siak, Meranti, and Kampar. This program aims to enhance local government capacity in policy-making, budgeting, and organizing stunting initiatives by strengthening the Behavior Change Communication Strategy and the 8 Convergence Actions. Additionally, it seeks to develop provincial capacity for replicating this approach across Riau, with the ultimate goal of reducing stunting rates and creating effective, integrated, and sustainable stunting programs throughout the region.
The "BISA" Project (2020)
The Better Investment for Stunting Alleviation (BISA) is an integrated nutrition- specific and nutrition-sensitive program by Nutrition International and Save the Children. Yayasan Cipta supported BISA to develop the Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) Strategy by utilizing 5 steps of P-Process, which rely on the participatory approach and rigourus field consultation process to ensure that the strategy can be implemented based on the local contexts West Java and East Nusa Tenggara.
National Communication Strategy for COVID-19 Vaccination (2020)
At the end of 2020, Yayasan Cipta assisted the Health Promotion and Community Empowerment Directorate of the MoH in developing the National Communication Strategy for COVID-19 Vaccination. The project began with a formative rapid research to develop an RCCE (Risk Communication and Community Engagement)-based strategy which comprised a series of key messages tailored into communication channels and activities prior, during, and after the launch of COVID-19 vaccination from national to sub-national levels.
The BATAGOR Project (2021)
Bapak Ibu dan Anak Tangguh Kota Bogor (BATAGOR) Project was led by Childfund International in collaboration with Yayasan Cipta, IAKMI (Ikatan Ahli Kesehatan Masyarakat Indonesia), and Yayasan Warga Upadaya in two municipalities in Bogor. The project provided a comprehensive and holistic intervention in responding and preventing stunting, and capacity building in responsive parenting through community empowerment. Yayasan Cipta facilitated the local community to:
1. Develop local SBCC Action Plan on Stunting Prevention based on the local problems and resources,
2. Co-design the Information, Education, and Communication materials, and;
3. Supervised the local champions to carry out campaign process in their municipalities.
National Communication Strategy (NCS) & Operationalization Plan for the Expanded Immunization Program (Oct 2021 – Jun 2022)
In this project, Yayasan Cipta with funding from UNICEF delivered technical assistance to the Directorate of Health Promotion – Ministry of Health in updating the National Communication Strategy to improve immunization coverage through demand-generation approach; as well as developing guidance on costed communication and demand plans as part of the national strategy, based on the consultation with the national and local stakeholders. The Ministry of Health and UNICEF are planning to launch the Updated Communication Strategy in July 2022.
Technical Assistance for Developing, Reviewing, and Strengthening the Local BCC Strategy on Stunting Prevention (2021 – ongoing)
Through this project, Tanoto Foundation funded the technical support from Yayasan Cipta to facilitate the development and strengthening the local BCC Strategy to accelerate Stunting Prevention in 6 districts: Garut, Kutai Kartanegara, Lombok Utara, Pandeglang, Pasaman Barat, Rokan Hulu. The project also piloted the implementation of BCC Strategy in Lombok Barat, by facilitating the development of stunting BCC module and pocketbook for the local community and religious leaders. In 2022, the project continues to deliver technical assistance to the seven districts in implementing the developed communication strategy for stunting reduction.
